Article Submission Guidelines
Please email a max. 250 word summary to the address above.
A member of the editorial team will respond as soon as possible to discuss your idea a bit further. The aim here is to challenge you on your ideas. Who is the target audience? Can you expand on your points? What are you hoping to achieve? How can our readers help? We may be able to put you in touch with other activists as a way of strengthening your work.
When contacting us with your draft submission, please put your full name in
CAPITAL LETTERS in the subject of the email. This way, the editorial team can
keep track of your work!
Please note: Liberal Base is a grassroots platform, and we rely on volunteer submissions.
We are not in a position to pay for any pieces. The editor reserves the right to alter your piece prior to publication, whilst keeping to the spirit of your work.
Our Code of Conduct
Here at Liberal Base, we have a zero tolerance of any form of bullying, harassment or intimidation on our platform. Our whole objective is to make politics and activism more appealing and accessible to citizens.
You are expected to conduct yourself in a manner which demonstrates respect for Liberal Base, its readers and community. Liberal Base puts great emphasis on good behaviour and will deal with cases of misconduct. To achieve this goal Liberal has set up some rules
of conduct for all staff and volunteers to follow; this is an extensive but not exhaustive list of activities which the Liberal Base regards as constituting misconduct.
They are as follows:
Violent, indecent, disorderly, threatening, intimidating or offensive behaviour or language (whether expressed orally, in writing or electronically, including social networking websites and other electronic means).
Substantial obstruction or interference with the functions, duties or legitimate activities of Liberal Base staff or volunteers.
Any actions or behaviours that can be characterised as sexual misconduct under the U.K. Sexual Offences Act of 2003, including but not limited to: assault, groping, unwanted touching, and sexual activity without full consent.
Any behaviour which could constitute discrimination or harassment on the grounds of sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender reassignment, race, religion, disability or age towards any Liberal Base staff or volunteers, or any members of the general public.
Theft, misappropriation, unauthorised use or misuse of Liberal Base property.
Fraud, deceit, deception or dishonesty in relation to staff or volunteers from Liberal Base.
Action which may cause injury or jeopardise the safety of others whilst at Liberal Base affiliated events.
Bribery or attempted bribery including but not limited to offering or giving money, gifts or any other advantage to staff or volunteers of Liberal Base with the intention of inducing that person to perform their role improperly or of rewarding that person for performing their role improperly.
Intentional or reckless damage or defacement of property belonging to Liberal Base, its staff or volunteers, and the public.
Failure to comply with any penalties or sanctions imposed as a result of disciplinary procedures instituted by Liberal Base.
All communications on behalf of Liberal Base must be polite, respectful, and must not contain anything which falls into the definition of misconduct above. You may not communicate from any account linked to Liberal Base for personal gain, or receive any personal gain not authorised by Liberal Base as a result of communications on its behalf, authorised or otherwise.
